안녕하세요.
저는 작년에 미국 시민권을 취득하였습니다.
17세 된 딸의 미국 여권을 신청하기위하여 기본증명서와 가족관계증명서를 신청하여 영문으로
번역하여 영사 확인을 받아서 보냈더니 첨부된 편지가 왔습니다.
본인은 2001년 딸아이의 아빠와 이혼하면서 아빠가 친권을 포기하였고 그후 제가 아이와 2010년에
미국으로 이민을 와서 2016년에 시민권을 취득하였습니다.
미국 여권과에서 어떤 서류를 요구하는 것인지요?

Thank you for your recent passport application. If you have already obtained a Certificate of
Citizenship issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), please submit this
document to our office. If a Certificate of Citizenship has not been obtained, please submit the
following:
 Evidence of the legal separation of your parents and evidence that shows you were in the
sole or joint legal and physical custody of your U.S. citizen parent pursuant to lawful
admission for permanent residence, such as a custody decree or divorce decree addressing
custody or the death certificate of your non-U.S. citizen parent.
If your parents were married to each other and are no longer together, examples of such
evidence might include:
 A custody decree or divorce decree addressing custody;
 The death certificate of your non-U.S. citizen parent; or
 A statement from a competent authority (such as a court or state agency) certifying that
your state or country of residence presumes that you are in the legal custody of your U.S.
citizen parent. A letter from an attorney citing the statute is also acceptable if
accompanied by a photocopy of the statute.
If your parents were never married to each other, examples of such evidence might include:
 A custody decree;
 The death certificate of your non-U.S. citizen parent; or
 A statement from a competent authority (such as a court or state agency) certifying that
your state or country of birth presumes that you are in the legal custody of your U.S.
