Grieving bride in her wedding dress breaks down in tears at her fiancé's grave on the day they were to marry, after the firefighter was 'killed by a drunk-driving colleague' as he helped at a crash

Heartbroken bride, Jessica Padgett (pictured), wore her wedding dress to visit her fiance Kendall James Murphy's grave on the day they were supposed to say 'I do'


In honor of her husband's memory, Jessica posed for several photos with Murphy's boots, his tombstone, his firefighting gear and with loved ones on September 29, the day they were supposed to get married 


The photos were taken by Loving Life Photography and shared on Facebook. The post has been shared more than 21,000 times


Jessica became emotional as she was handed her fiance's boots with flowers tucked inside them

A note was attached to the boots that read: 'Jessica, no matter your path, I'm with you always. Love, your guardian angel, Kendall James'

In one tear-jerking image, Jessica is seen holding Murphy's boots with his image photoshopped in place beside her 


Murphy, who was a firefighter for Montgomery, Indiana, was tragically killed in November 2017 when his colleague, Colby Blake, crashed his vehicle into three cars as they responded to call


Jessica is seen hugging family members as several of them become emotional during the photoshoot

Jessica and Murphy's family members gathered around her as they all knelt in front of his grave 


The Murphy and Padgett families (pictured) attended the National Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland to honor Kendall on October 7


The Murphy and Padgett families, along with the couple's friends, later lit paper sky lanterns and let them go above Murphy's gravesite
