Melania, 47, is accompanying her husband President Trump on a 12-day Asia tour, and arrived in Beijing today looking elegant in a chic black coat 


United front: The first couple looked happy and relaxed as they held hands while posing for pictures at the Forbidden City, which they visited soon after arriving in China


President Trump and Melania were greeted at the Forbidden City by&nbspPresident Xi Jinping and his wife&nbspMadame Peng Liyuan


The Trumps enjoyed a tour of the historic site with China's first couple, before later preparing to enjoy an opera performance and a quiet dinner


The US President looked particularly happy to have landed in Beijing


President Trump and Melania were given a personal introduction to the Forbidden City by President Xi Jinping and several aides - making sure they paused to pose for photos


Melania and Donald coordinated perfectly in their matching dark coats, while the Chinese president opted for a long grey overcoat


Part of the tour saw the first couples taking in the Palace Museum


Both first couples looked like they were having a great time in each other's company, with all four smiling happily as they made their way around the Forbidden City


Melania looked enthralled as she and her husband were given a tour of the conservation laboratory at the Forbidden City



After the tour of the Forbidden City, Donald and Melania joined China's first couple for an opera performance at the popular tourist attraction


The president took his wife's hand once again as they watched the performance
